An additional and sessions judge on Thursday sentenced to death a man convicted of murder and fined him Rs 100,000.


The court acquitted another man by giving him benefit of doubt.

Prosecution said Shaukat Hussain and his accomplices killed had killed Abdul Hameed over a property dispute near Kala police station. Police had arrested Hussain and accomplice Ghulam Yasin in a raid.

After hearing witnesses and examining evidence, Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra found Hussain guilty and sentenced him to death. He also fined him Rs100,000 rupees. Yasin was acquitted on benefit of doubt.
