Creating opportunities: Exhibition to showcase female artisans
The exhibition will bring a variety of traditional arts and crafts to Hyderabad

A government-funded NGO, the Sindh Rural Support Organisation (SRSO), will organise the Sartyoon Sang Crafts Exhibition at the Sindh Museum in Hyderabad from June 5 to June 7, according to a press release. The exhibition will bring a variety of traditional arts and crafts to Hyderabad. The colourful and captivating products are the work of hundreds of rural women from different remote villages of Kashmore-Kandhkot, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Jacobabad, Khairpur and Sukkur. SRSO chief executive officer Muhammad Dital Kalhoro said the event’s objective is to facilitate better incomes for female artisans of rural Sindh. “We have trained over 7,000 women from some of the most under-developed regions of Jacobabad, Kandhkot, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Ghotki, Kambar-Shahdadkot, Khairpur and Sukkur,” he said.
