PESHAWAR:

Qaumi Watan Party Chairman Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao has expressed reservations over the economic policies set by the federal government, saying Pukhtuns have been shoved aside.

“People of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have also been kept aside because of the incompetency of the provincial government,” said Sherpao at a public gathering in Tehkal Bala. “Although Pukhtuns are the second largest population of the country and have made many sacrifices, they still are being made to suffer.”

Sherpao added the unjust behaviour towards Pukhtuns is increasing frustrations.

He also spoke about the local government elections, saying Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf promised to conduct free and fair polls but on the contrary it is influencing the election. Sherpao claimed although the elections are around the corner, provincial ministers are transferring the venues of polling stations which is a violation of the code of conduct.

However, he added, his party believes in democracy and is hence actively participating in the elections to avail the opportunity through which democracy can be strengthened.
