CHARSADDA: Municipal administration employees took to the streets against the alleged political appointments of eight workers in Charsadda on Friday. The rally started from the municipal office and culminated at Farooq-e-Azam Square. Talking on the occasion, the employee association’s general secretary Shad Khan said the eight appointees belong to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Jamaat-e-Islami. He said the hiring will add to the financial difficulties of the municipal office. Union president Mubeen Shah said the government has announced development projects worth Rs100 million in the district as local government polls are around the corner. “They want to influence the outcome of the election,” he said, adding the Election Commission of Pakistan’s code of conduct has been violated.
