Navy took an early lead against PIA in the 14th minute through Muhammad Basharat, while Naveed Ahmed doubled the score three minutes later. PIA responded with a goal from Nazeer Ahmed but Navy led 2-1 at the interval.
As PIA missed five chances to equalise, Navy sealed the victory when Naveed netted his second goal. PIA scored their second goal through Zeeshan Ali in the 86th minute but by then it was too late. Despite the defeat PIA retained the third spot in the league with 46 points while Navy climbed two places to sixth position with 41 points.
Meanwhile, Abdul Rehman’s goals against Pel in the astonishing 30th second and 55th minute of the match cemented KESC’s second place. Abdul Ghafoor scored his goal in the 22nd minute in the one-sided match.
Earlier, Pakistan Air Force defeated Karachi Port Trust 1-0 and moved up to seventh position with 40 points.
