LAHORE:

The government must immediately release the judicial commission’s inquiry report into the Model Town killings, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) central Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo said on Thursday.

“The government formed the judicial commission to investigate the death of 14 people. Why is it reluctant to release the inquiry report?” Wattoo asked. He said that many people had the impression that the report blamed the government for the deaths that was why it was not being released. “On June 17, 2014, the media showed that police had surrounded the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) headquarters. The truth about what happened next should be brought to light. The chief minister’s residence is also located in the area,” he said
