Public health: ‘Neuro emergency dept will soon be operational’

Rs250 million were spent on the purchase of equipments including a CT scan machine

Post-Graduate Medical Institute Principal Anjum Habib Vohra said on Sunday a Neurology Emergency Department would also be made operational at the hospital in a few days. He said the provincial government had released Rs700 million in the current fiscal year for the on-going Punjab Neurological Sciences Institute Project. Of this amount Rs250 million were spent on the purchase of equipments including a CT scan machine, he added. He said after lengthy negotiations with the manufacturer the hospital had managed to procure the machine for Rs300 million less than the market price. Prof Vohra said that work was underway on Lahore General Hospital phase III project.
