Raid: Police confiscate 1,080 litres liquor

Suspected bootlegger among six arrested.

ISLAMABAD:
Islamabad Police on Saturday arrested a suspected bootlegger and recovered 1,010 litres of liquor from a house in Sadat Colony in the limits of Golra Police Station.

On suspicion, a police team stopped a car (GAY-3366) and recovered 70 litres of liquor from it during search. One of the two occupants, later identified as Niaz Muhammad, fled the car but the police arrested the other occupant, a woman named Shabana Bibi.

During the preliminary investigation, the suspects said that they had bought the liquor from a suspected bootlegger Mudassar. The police then raided Mudassar’s home in Sadat Colony and recovered 1,010 litres of liquor from the house.

Both Shabana Bibi and Mudassar have been booked and arrested.


Meanwhile, the police arrested four suspects and recovered narcotics in different incidents on Saturday.

Sihala police arrested a suspected drug pusher, identified as Zahid, in possession of 1.1 kilogramme of hashish. Secretariat police recovered a stolen and tampered from a suspect Amjad Ali.

Margalla police booked Taqaddus for alleged involvement in electricity theft while Shahzad Town police arrested a suspect Sardar Khan.

Cases have been registered against the suspects.
