PESHAWAR:

Two suspected militants hailing from Afghanistan were arrested in the provincial capital on Saturday.

According to insiders, both men were arrested during a raid conducted by police and security forces on Frontier Road in the jurisdiction of Mattani police station.

A series of maps, a motorcycle and other documentation has been seized from their possession. The suspected militants are believed to be involved in the murder of a policeman and for orchestrating an attack on polio workers in the district.

They were shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.

Earlier this week, two suspected militants were killed while a constable was injured in an encounter in Hayatabad.

In a separate incident, Counter Terrorism Department officials also arrested a terrorist from Badhaber who was involved in the 2013 Madrassah Ariful Hussaini suicide attack.
