KARACHI: Young Pakistani golfer Hamza Amin, who got his first chance to shine at the OneAsia’s GS Caltex Maekyung Open Tournament, scored one under-par 71 in the second round at the Namseoul Country Club in Seoul, Korea, on Friday.

Amin fired two bogies and three birdies to score one under-par 71 and finish 20th at the end of round two. Earlier, Amin had scored three over-par 75 in the first round and now has a two-round aggregate score of two over-par 146 and is standing 43rd out of 147 golfers.

Amin says that he managed his game better in the second round. “I kept my focus and remained calm after making two critical errors in the fourth and seventh hole with two bogies,” he told The Express Tribune from Korea.

The 28-year-old thinks that his performance in the next two rounds depends on how well he implements his game plan. “It’s all about putting a good game plan into play and not worrying about the outcome,” said Amin. “I want to concentrate on one shot at a time rather than get carried away and think too far ahead.”

Meanwhile, Australian veteran Jason Norris fired a three under-par 69 to share the lead with Korea’s Moon Kyong-Jun in the same event.

Straight birdies gave Norris and Moon a four-shot lead on seven under-par on the hilly 6,353 metre (6,947 yard) course.

Norris collected four birdies in the first nine holes and hit three bogies and two birdies on the second nine.
