Notices issued: Sharjeel out to exorcise KWSB of ghost employees

Minister says the employees are receiving salaries regularly but they are not attending office

Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Sharjeel Inaam Memon has ordered to issue show cause notices to 262 ghost employees working in Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB), a statement said on Thursday.


The minister also directed the authorities concerned to stop the salaries of these ghost employees who were not attending the office despite repeated warnings for joining the job, the statement said.

Sharjeel Memon directed the Secretary Local Government and MD KWSB to convey these ghost employees in last show cause notice to reply immediately and join the job otherwise they would be terminated from services.

“These ghost employees are receiving salaries regularly since last so many years but they are not attending the office,” the minister noted.

The KWSB administration submitted a list of 262 ghost employees and minister directed the managing director of the board to issue them last show cause notices and stop their salaries till they join the office.
