Addressing Grievances: SNGPL association presents demands
Raza that the authorities would be made cognisant of the demands
LAHORE:
Labour Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar assured the Sui Gas Employees’ Association (CBA) on Thursday regarding the payment of minimum wage to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited employees. Sarwar made the assurance in a meeting with Shehzad Iqbal Raza, the president of the association. He assured Raza that the authorities would be made cognisant of the demands. Raza said the association represented 8,000 workers. He informed the minister about the challenges confronting workers. He said workers had not received a raise in two years. Raza said over 3,000 workers were not being paid the Rs12,000 minimum wage. Sarwar said the government had been striving to eradicate corruption and nepotism in state-owned enterprises.
