Unhygienic conditions: ICT admin fines four food outlets

ISLAMABAD:


The Islamabad Capital Territory Administration during inspection of food outlets, fined four food outlets for failing to comply with the Hygiene and Sanitation Rules.       


The inspection teams of food and health department conducted 186 inspections of food outlets during the last week and issued six notices as well as fined four food outlets for failing to comply with food safety laws.


The inspection teams also confiscated filthy utensil and samples of various food items sent to the laboratory for analysis.


Deputy Director Food, inspected food outlets at Safa Mall Shopping Center, Jinnah Super Market and imposed fines worth Rs 38,000 on food outlets for unhygienic conditions of their kitchens.


The teams also delivered 42 lectures on the public health and directed the food outlets owners to improve the hygiene and sanitation conditions immediately failing which stern action would be taken against the violators.
