ISLAMABAD:
The federal government has issued the notification of appointing Kamaluddin Tipu as the acting chairman of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra).
A grade 21 officer of the Police Services Group, Tipu has been serving Pemra as member executive committee since 2014.
The ministry of information and broadcasting had sent the summary for Tipu’s appointment to the presidency last week.
President Mamnoon Hussain acting on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the appointment of Tipu as the acting chairman of Pemra.
A notification in this regard was subsequently issued late on Wednesday night.
