Against the grain: PTI memberships suspended

MARDAN: PTI has suspended the party membership of all those workers who are contesting local government elections as independent candidates against those with party tickets in Mardan. The membership of more than 10 workers from different areas of the district has been suspended, stated a press release issued from the office of PTI Mardan General Secretary and MPA Iftikhar Mashwani on Saturday. The statement added workers have damaged the reputation of the party in the district by violating its discipline. The participation of workers in elections as independent candidates can cause hurdles for other party workers, stated the press release.
