Energy Sustainability: Fifth congress takes place for engineers

The congress had six technical sessions in which 24 papers were presented

The Institution of Engineers Pakistan (IEP), in collaboration with other institutions, organised the fifth International Mechanical Engineering Congress with a primary focus on ‘Energy Sustainability and Mechanical Design’. 


In his inaugural speech, NED University Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Afzal Haque said the institution is the premier body of qualified engineers in Pakistan and has made significant contribution of the development of the country. “The role played by the institution in spreading modern skills and technology is highly commendable,” he said.


“Recent advancements in science and technology have placed enormous power at the disposal of man which must be harnessed for the welfare of humanity”.


The congress had six technical sessions in which 24 papers were presented where engineers from all over Pakistan and other countries such as, Oman, Jordan, South Korea, China and Malaysia presented technical papers and participated in discussion on engineering matters of national and international importance.
