Hung up: Damages claimed for defective phone

LAHORE:
A consumer court issued a notice to a cell-phone vendor on Friday on a Rs100,000 suit filed against him. Earlier, petitioner Muhammad Aslam told the court that he had purchased a cell phone from Arif of Hussain Mobiles, Shahdara, for Rs15,000. He said at the time of the purchase Arif had told him that he would be responsible for any fault in the device. He said a few days later the cell phone had stopped working properly. He said when he went to Arif with the complaint he refused to repair or replace the set. The petitioner requested the consumer court to direct Arif to pay him Rs100,000 in damages.
