PESHAWAR:

An accountability court directed the administration of LRH on Thursday to form a medical board to ascertain the nature of injuries suffered by a suspect in NAB custody.

Sardar Raza, the counsel for accused Gul Khatab, informed the court that the suspect’s daughter Saiqa went to meet her father and claimed to have seen torture marks on his body. The counsel suspected the investigation officer beat the suspect. However, the officer refuted the allegations. The court later referred the suspect to the Police Services Hospital where doctors said his body bore marks of torture.

His daughter was told she has the liberty to file an FIR against NAB if its officials were found guilty of torturing Khatab.
