JS corruption case: Anti-graft police nabs CDGK official

Najamuddin Sikandar was one of the nominated accused in the cases registered against Jahangir Siddiqui.

KARACHI: Anti-Corruption police have apprehended District Officer of the City District Government Karachi’s Land Allotment department Najamuddin Sikandar on Thursday.

Sources said that Anti-Corruption police arrested Sikandar from his house in New Town area and later the accused was shifted to Preedy police station where Inspector Nazeer Sheikh was questioning him.

Chairman Anti-Corruption department Ramzan Channa while talking to The Express Tribune confirmed the arrest and said that he was one of the nominated accused in the cases registered against Jahangir Siddiqui and his brother Zahid Siddiqui. “We have to arrest more than half dozen other nominated persons including the absconding brothers Jahangir and Zahid Siddiqui,” he said. “

Sikandar is a grade 19 officer and is facing charges of bribery and misuse of the authority. He denies all charges.

Shamshad Ahmad | 13 years ago | Reply Faraz Khan - Your artice lacks credibility. Jahangir Siddiqui does not have a brother called Zahid Siddiqui. This is fictitious reporting. One should also consider that if the officials investigating this case aren't even aware of who the brothers are of such a prominent businessman, how will the rest of their case ever be true!
