Na Maloom Afraad actress Urwa Hocane has replaced model-turned-actress Iman Ali in an upcoming film. Urwa will be starring alongside Ali Azmat and Bilal Ashraf.

The actress is said to be playing the lead in the film. Although the production is being kept under wraps, it has been revealed that the first spell of the movie has already been shot in Hyderabad. When contacted, the actress confirmed the development.

After her successful debut in Na Maloom Afraad, it is no surprise that Urwa is turning out to be a sought-after actress in the local entertainment industry. The comedy-thriller released last year on Eid is the longest Pakistani running film (165 days) since 2007, breaking Waar’s previously held record. It grossed Rs4.5 million on the first day of release.

With such a blockbuster film under her belt, Urwa has already started receiving more offers. Her sister Mawra Hocane is not far behind and has become a recognized face.

Urwa entered the television industry as a VJ and was soon seen acting in TV serials like Meri LadliKahi Un Kahi,Tum Mere hi Rehna, and Madiha Maliha. However it was her critically acclaimed performance in drama Marasim which propelled her career forward. Her upcoming film is due to hit theatres next year.
