Family dispute: Police constable shot, injured

Constable Obaidullah said he was going back home when two armed men opened fire on him

PESHAWAR: A constable of Frontier Reserve Police (FRP) was shot in Paharipura over a family dispute on Monday. Registering an FIR with the police in his injured condition, Constable Obaidullah said he was going back home after attending a refresher course for firemen when two armed men, including his rival Imran, opened fire on him. He was rushed to Lady Reading Hospital where his condition was said to be stable. The constable is a resident of Mera Turangzai in Charsadda. In Gulbahar, police arrested proclaimed offender Sadiq Shah in a raid on a house. The accused is allegedly part of a banned group and was wanted by the police in a number of terrorism-related cases. Head money of Rs0.5 million was also set for his capture.
