This was stated by PTI Lahore senior vice president Shoaib Siddiqui on Sunday. “The two-member committee, comprising Chaudhry Sarwar and Rai Azizullah, will assess the procedures put in place to award party tickets to candidates,” he said.
“Committee chairman Sarwar is abroad and will initiate a formal inquiry on his return to the country on May 8. There is no point in circulating speculations regarding the outcome of the inquiry,” he said. He rejected media reports indicating that the inquiry committee had accused PTI’s Lahore leadership of negligence. “There is a group working against the party leadership in Lahore,” he said.

On Friday, the party had issued a formal notification regarding the establishment of the committee to probe the performance of the party in the cantonment board elections with special focus on Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sialkot and Sargodha districts. The party had won only five seats from Lahore.
Meanwhile, the provincial leadership, including Ejaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Dr Yasmin Rashid, Andleeb Abbas and PTI vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has started preparations for the local government elections. They have attended party conventions in Multan and Sahiwal.
