KARACHI: Five leading national cricketers have been finally permitted by the PCB to travel to Malaysia ahead of the New Zealand tour for an ad-shoot related to the 2011 World Cup.

Pakistan limited overs captain Shahid Afridi along with Younus Khan, Umar Gul, Shoaib Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq were earlier asked to attend the training camp underway in Lahore by the PCB. However, following the revised schedule of the ad-shoot, the players can now travel before the New Zealand tour.

“The PCB stopped them because it wanted all the players to attend the camp,” a PCB official told The Express Tribune. “Since their schedule has been changed, the players can travel to Malaysia after the conclusion of the camp on December 15.”

The players are expected to make a two-day visit to Malaysia and from there they would leave for New Zealand.
