Losing Control: Road accident leaves 30 people injured

The vehicle overturned and fell into a roadside ditch

SUKKUR: Thirty people, including women and children, were injured when a passenger bus overturned at the Rohri-Arore road, around 15 kilometres from Sukkur, on Saturday. The passenger bus was travelling from Rohri to Januji near RD-186 of Nara Canal. When it reached the Rohri-Arore road, the driver tried to overtake a tractor and lost control of the bus. The vehicle overturned and fell into a roadside ditch, injuring 30 passengers. The injured were taken to the Rohri taluka hospital, where the medical superintendent declared an emergency. Most of the injured passengers brought to the hospital had sustained fractures in their arms and legs. Those with minor injuries were sent home after being given first aid, while 16 people were admitted in the hospital. The bus driver managed to escape from the scene, while the police have impounded the bus.
