KARACHI: Malir SSP Rao Anwar has been transferred because he misused his power by not taking the Sindh IG into confidence about addressing the press conference on the arrest of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists, said Sindh chief minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah on Friday. “The CM or the IG are supposed to address press conferences about high-profile cases but Anwar bypassed the higher authorities,” he claimed while talking to the media, adding that the SSP should not speak about politics or criticise the leadership of a political party. Responding to a question, Shah said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s statement about the army was not reasonable.
