LAKKI MARWAT:

Three people were killed and five others were injured when unidentified men opened fire on a vehicle in the Dara Pizo area of Lakki Marwat district on Monday.

Dara Pizo SHO Anwar Salim said Qayyum was en route with his wife and sons in a vehicle. While the family was headed to harvest a wheat crop, they offered Ghulam Muhammad, a resident of the same area, a lift.

During the journey, Muhammad’s rivals ambushed them and opened fire at the vehicle, added the SHO. As a result, Muhammad and one of Qayyum’s sons Rizwan died on the spot. Muhammad’s brother Inamullah, who later arrived at the scene, was also gunned down.

Meanwhile Qayyum, his wife Hukam Bibi, sons Naveed and Abrar and another person, whose identity could not be ascertained, were injured. Locals rushed them to the hospital while the assailants managed to flee. Salim said Muhammad had an old enmity.
