Pakistan's makeshift amusement parks offer hope in troubled times

Many families have fled their villages due to fighting between security forces and militants in the tribal areas

With over 400 amusement parks in the United States and more than 300 in Europe, children in Pakistan do not have access to such a luxury. Commercial amusement parks which are already few in number are often too expensive for families to enjoy.

As a result, makeshift amusement parks are being constructed on the outskirts of Pakistani towns and are a proving to be a popular source of entertainment.

The children who frequent these makeshift parks are thoroughly amused by merry-go-rounds and thrilled by ferris wheels.

Many families have fled their villages due to fighting between security forces and militants in the tribal areas and these amusement parks built on the outskirts of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, provide them with some relief from their troubles; if only for a little while.

Even the "jadeedh" city of Lahore has worthless rides in Race course park ( spring festival). Is it that the establishment only PATRONIZES THE OLD GUARD WILLING TO GREASE PALMS?? and what about the "non-laptop kids" who visit these parks? get me some answers now
