ISLAMABAD:

The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat has sought a report from Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) managing director on a complaint of an overseas Pakistani regarding poor service and substandard food on a PIA flight from London to Islamabad.

Sources of the Ombudsman office told Express Investigation Cell that an overseas Pakistani Sibtain Ahmed lodged a complaint before the Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis at Federal Ombudsman Secretariat on April 21 in this regard.

According to Ahmed, he travelled from London to Islamabad last month on PIA’s flight PK-785. In his complaint filed to the ombudsman, Ahmed states that the airline served substandard food to the passengers.

Other services on the flight were also very poor, he contended in his complaint. Taking notice over the complaint, the grievance commissioner has sought report from PIA managing director for further action.  Federal Ombudsman has appointed Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmad Khokar, as Grievance Commissioner to address the issues of the expatriates related to the federal government ministries.

Irfan | 8 years ago | Reply I recently flew return from Heathrow to Islamabad, the food quality was atrocious. Luckily I foresaw this and bought some food from duty free in London. But on the return flight as with PIA and the disgraceful worlds worst airport I didn't trust the duty free in Islamabad. The food on return was despicable, not fit for any human consumption. This though is the least of this airlines worries. Having travelled on Emirates and Gulf air the difference in service was heaven and earth. I certainly won't be travelling on this carrier again. It saddens me to see the state of our national carrier that we should be proud of. This entity needs to be broken up and privatised, the level of corruption is eye watering .
rizwan | 9 years ago | Reply I travelled through PIA from UK in febuary and returning back in march the food on flights was soo substandard. The entertainment was down the screen did not work. I asked for a blanket and was told PIA don't carry any more and could not even get a cushion.
