Six passengers killed as car plunges into River Indus in K-P

Deceased include a woman and child, at least three people also injured

SWAT: At least six passengers were killed and three others were injured on Friday when a car plunged into the Indus River near Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa's Shangla district. 

The accident took place at Monji area, two kilometers away from Besham Bazaar. According to Besham police station, the driver lost control of the vehicle resulting into the accident which claimed at least six lives, including a woman and child.

“The car was heading towards Kohistan area from Besham and fell 300 feet below in the Indus River, killing six persons including a woman and a child while three others were injured,” an official of the Besham police station told The Express Tribune.

He said the injured were immediately shifted to Besham hospital to receive medical treatment.

An accident had also taken place at Dankul area of Martoong in the same district late Thursday night and led to the death of two passengers and injuries of four. Soon after the incident, the injured were shifted to a BHU at Totwal area in Martoong.
