Initial reports suggest that the vehicle of the security forces was targeted and that it was an ERF mobile hit.
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have claimed responsibility for the attack.
TTP spokesperson Muhammad Khorasani said a remote controlled device was used to target the vehicle of the Quick Response Force.

As news of the blast was received by relevant teams, Rescue 1122 and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) arrived at the scene.
The blast left seven injured including one civilian and four emergency response force officers; namely Zulfiqar, Khalir, Ilyas and Naik Muhammad. The injured have been shifted to Lady Reading Hospital.

The BDS claimed that 2kg of explosives were used in the targeted attack.
Police have cordoned off the area and investigation is underway.
Further, initial reports have not confirmed any deaths.
