PESHAWAR:

A host of Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) office bearers and workers joined Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) on Monday. Addressing a press conference at the latter’s district office, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Local Government and Rural Development Inayatullah Khan said JI is the only party that has enforced democratic values within its ranks. Flanked by former minister Hafiz Hashmat and JI Charsadda ameer Misbahullah, Khan said the party represents the common man and transparency is one of its key virtues.

Prominent amongst those who joined the JI include former nazim Abid Kamal and former councillor Shaukat Ali Khan. Also speaking on the occasion, Kamal said he and his like-minded political workers have joined the party unconditionally. He said, “QWP does not care about the well-being of its loyal ideological activists.” Another leader Malik Sardar Ali added QWP has diverted from Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao’s vision.
