Prove your identity or face arrest: Rangers tell Karachiites

Urge citizens to cooperate and report any attempt to snatch NICs on Rangers helpline 1101

KARACHI: In its latest effort to make Karachi a crime-free city, Sindh Rangers on Monday requested the citizens to keep their original identification cards with them at all times.

In a statement issued by the Rangers spokesperson urging the citizens to keep their National Identity Card (NIC) with them all the time, the paramilitary force said copies of NIC will not be acceptable and the individual in question will be taken into custody till his/her identity is proven.

Rangers urged the citizens for cooperation, asking to report any attempt to snatch their NICs on Rangers helpline, 1101.

As part of the Karachi operation, law enforcement agencies, particularly Rangers have been active in their drive against target killers, extortionists and other criminals in the city.
