Along the river: Two injured in landmine blast

The SHO said the two men came across a solid object buried in the soil and tried to dig it out using a hoe

LAKKI MARWAT: Two men were injured in a landmine blast in Yaseen Manjiwala village of Lakki Marwat on Sunday. Manjiwala is situated along Kurram River in the district. According to Lakki Marwat police SHO Javed Khan, two residents of the village, Kamran and Dil Nawaz, were busy digging an irrigation channel there on Sunday. The SHO said the two men came across a solid object buried in the soil and tried to dig it out using a hoe. The object turned out to be a landmine which exploded, injuring both men. Khan added locals reached the site and rushed Kamran and Dil Nawaz to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Sarai Naurang from where they were referred to District Headquarters Hospital Bannu. The SHO added Dil Nawaz was in critical condition.
