Three-Hour Grilling: Ayyan says she owns seized currency

ISLAMABAD: Customs officials grilled model Ayyan for three hours on Wednesday, but she divulged nothing except for claiming that the confiscated currency belonged to her. Ayyan was caught attempting to leave the country with $500,000 cash at Benazir Bhutto International Airport last month. Earlier, her legal team had claimed that the money belonged to her brother and that she was supposed to hand over the money to a person at the airport who had been sent by her brother. During the investigation, the model was shown footage of her passing through the immigration counter while holding a bag containing the cash. She failed to convince the team with her alibi, said a customs official.
