ABBOTABAD:

Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mazhar Alam Miankhel has said judges and lawyers must work collectively to dispense speedy justice for the supremacy of law and convenience of the public.

“We might face difficulties in achieving the objective of ensuring the supremacy of law amid conspiracies against the system, but it is important that the bench and bar work in close coordination,” said the CJ while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of the newly-elected office bearers of Haripur District Bar Association on Saturday.

He also spoke about the demand to appoint civil judges in provinces, saying it was getting delayed as the provincial government has filed an appeal in PHC against the decision.

However, new judges would be appointed as soon as the litigation is over, he said. Justice Miankhel said the problem of space would be ended once the construction of Haripur Judicial Complex is completed.
