Ayesha, who has previously made guest appearances in Reema’s Love Mein Ghum and Humayun Saeed’s Main Hoon Shahid Afridi, said her character in the film is different from the roles she has mostly played. “Audiences are used to seeing me play a modern girl but, in this film, I will play the role of a really innocent and simple girl.” She thanked the director for selecting her to play such an important role in the film.
Having already made a name for herself through various stints on television, Ayesha is thrilled to explore the medium of film further. “Acting in films and on television are two completely different things,” she explained. Although Karachi Se Lahore is currently in its final stage of production, the teaser for the film has already been released online. “Judging by the response we have received from the teaser so far, I’m hopeful that the film will prove to be a success at the Pakistani box office,” she stated.
The teaser for the film created quite a buzz as it shows glimpses of Ayesha performing an ‘item song’ in the movie. “It’s a fantastic reaction. To tell you the truth, in spite of Bulbulay’s success, I wasn’t too confident the video will get such a huge response,” said Ayesha.
The script for Karachi Se Lahore has been penned by Yasir Hussain, who also wrote the story for popular drama serial Angan Terha. Apart from Karachi Se Lahore, Ayesha will also star in the Pakistani action-thriller, Yalghaar, which stars Humayun Saeed, Shaan, Adnan Siddiqui and Ayub Khoso.
