Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to make his first state visit to Pakistan between April 20 and 21, Express News reported Friday.

Earlier, in a joint press conference, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi confirmed the president's visit to Pakistan within the next few months but no date had been set for the visit.

Wang Yi visited Pakistan in February on an official two-day tour in which Pakistan and China were in agreement of everything that was discussed.

The Chinese president was scheduled to visit Pakistan last year, but had to delay his trips in the wake of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek's Azadi march outside Parliament.

“We (China and Pakistan) have mutually agreed to postpone the visit,” a senior official in the Chinese embassy had told The Express Tribune.

We got to see this Chinese Santa who will bring a bag of goodies for the starving Pakistanis. He might even teach us a trick or two on how to get money from others without shamelessly begging for it. The average Mr. Pakistani Mohammed Abdullah is dancing with joy on the streets. Good days are here again. But, wait, what would he want in return from us, given our very, very low standing in the world? But, again, what do we have to give him in return? And why would he want anything from a beggar nation? Isn't the average Chinese our "all-weather-friend"?
