Pakistan’s Muhammad Faheem won back-to-back matches in the ongoing Asian U21 Snooker Championship in China to increase his chances of making it to the knockout rounds.
Faheem beat Hong Kong’s Man Hoi Leong 4-3 in his first match of the competition despite trailing twice in the initial stages of the match.
Man first led 1-0 and then 2-1, until Faheem won two consecutive frames to claim the upper hand in the match. The 3-2 lead helped Faheem finish strongly as he won by scores of 36-63, 64-03, 53-64, 68-51, 50-27, 31-48 and 67-33.
In his second match, Faheem thrashed India’s ML Laxman 4-1.
Meanwhile, Amir Tariq beat Iran’s Alireza Rezaei 4-1, but things continued going downhill for Abdur Raheem, who conceded a 4-1 win to China’s Zhao Xintong.
