HARIPUR:

At least 25 passengers, including four children, were injured when a passenger bus plunged into a roadside gorge near Taranawa on Khanpur Road, around 42 kilometres from Haripur, on Tuesday.

Khanpur police said the passenger bus was on its way to Haripur from Taxila when the incident occurred. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to reckless driving, as a result of which the bus fell into the gorge.

Rescue workers and police rushed to the site and shifted the injured passengers to Khanpur Hospital from where four were referred to District Headquarters Hospital, said police and hospital sources. They were identified as Hanif, Halim, Shamim and Sumaira. However, they are now said to be out of danger.
