It has been over 40 years since the launch of the brand in the United Kingdom, said Afifa Hussain, marketing manager of Monsoon Children at Accessorize, Pakistan. “We offer kids-wear at Monsoon Children, focusing primarily on day- and party-wear,” she said. Targeting children between the ages of three and 12 years, the brand’s collection for girls is particularly striking, with 3D designs, embossed patterns, neon-coloured needlework and appliqué work.
Hussain stated Monsoon Children at Accessorize houses a host of design options for children and teenagers. Comparing the shop’s range to another outlet, Kidz, she said, “Quality-wise, our products are unmatchable and nobody does children-wear like us.” On what sets the brand apart from the rest, she added, “We are trying to incorporate international trends in our line. We stand out because we are following international-style patterns.”
With spring in full bloom in Karachi, Hussain believes the pastel hues will certainly give way to more vivacious hues in the summer. “The summer season will see a lot more colours and will comprise summer-suited fabrics for children,” she explained.
The store gets new stock every fortnight. Although aesthetically pleasing, the brand’s items are pricey. Party-wear for female children costs around Rs11,000. Sharing how the quality of their offerings makes up for the heavy price tags, Hussain said, “We are certainly delivering the very best to our customers.” Monsoon at Accessorize is located at Dolmen Mall, Clifton in Karachi, Safa Mall in Islamabad and ‘Y’ Block, DHA in Lahore.
