
Singh, who is camping in Djibouti to oversee the evacuation, made the comments early Tuesday while briefing the media about the rescue operation of fellow citizens.
The former army chief said the evacuation process was a difficult task and that the Indian government was trying its best to maximise success in rescuing people in large numbers, as soon as possible.
Singh raked up a controversy when he tweeted with hashtags “disgust” and “duty” during Pakistan Day celebrations in New Delhi, claiming it as a ‘job or service allocated'.

India is expected to wrap up its massive evacuation operation, named ‘Rahat’ in the upcoming days as the toll of rescued persons from Yemen has reached 3,300 with 1,052 Indians rescued on Monday.
Meanwhile, eleven Indian citizens were among the 35 foreign nationals who were rescued with the 148 Pakistani citizens from the Ash Shihr port in Yemen on April 4.
