On exhibiting the collection, she added, “We are delighted to bring our brand back to Lahore with this exhibition.” Rehana also commented on the evolution of her designs. “At the time we introduced our brand in 1983, jewellery consisted of generic designs rather than novel pieces that were individualised.” She added, “I was fascinated by the huge spectrum of semi-precious stones and I wanted to use them with precious metals and diamonds to give them the importance they deserve to create pieces that stepped outside the norm.”
Private Collection’s display includes customised creations, such as rings, earrings and bracelets, created by craftsman, whose lineage spans across three generations of working with the designer duo. “Our jewellery is unique, with each piece resonating echoes of generations of fine craftsmanship. The design work is based on a collaboration between me, Shakil, our craftsman, and for our bespoke pieces, the client,” said Rehana about the design aesthetics.
Since its inception three decades ago, Private Collection is, according to the press release, a noted jewellery brand, with patrons from across Pakistan, the United States, Europe and the Middle East. The brand has also stocked at the Saks Fifth Avenue in Washington.
