NAB arrests K-P home ministry official over Rs60 million scam

Misappropriated amount was allocated for IDPs when Arshad Khan served in FATA Disaster Management Authority

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Home and Tribal Affairs Department Additional Secretary Arshad Khan was arrested Friday morning by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on corruption charges.

According to NAB officials, Arshad Khan allegedly misappropriated Rs60 million allocated for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) when he served in the Federally Administrative Tribal Areas (FATA) Disaster Management Authority.

Arshad Khan was shifted to NAB Police Station at Hayatabad soon after his arrest. He is likely to appear before a NAB court for further interrogation.

Arshad Khan was removed from his office a few days ago on these grounds by Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan.

raider | 9 years ago | Reply @Adnan Siddiqi: NAB has never been any accountability institution, cases being pursued in NAB are mostly factual but NAB always tends to act politically and is puppet in the hand of political masters, when NAB is going to arrest zardari and mian sb they are the real culprits and NAB was especially designed for these thugs by Musharraf. Any iota of accountability has ceased to exist in NB, should be abolished and rejuvenated by competent staff and be separated as independent institution

This civil servant was nabbed by NAB which is a state and not a provisional institution. Second, it was due to Governor KPK that this corrupt officer was first removed from office and then charged with graft by NAB. Once again, Governor is the representative of the federation and not the province. Coming to the nach gana KPK government being ruled by the DJ Butt party, how many graft and corruption cases have been filed by the provisional government? 3 QWP legislators were thrown out of the coalition on grounds of illegal deforestation of timber and causing losses to the provisional govt. to the tunes of billion. Have they been charged for graft by the provisional government? ANP was renowned to have conceived a new form of corruption known as "Easy Load." In two years, how many inquests have been initiated to probe ANP's corruption? All the rest of your discourse is nonsensical rant about stashing billions and defaults.

At least, culprits are being brought to the book, unlike your masters you have stashed billions abroad, defaulted on billions of loans, and now are busy getting acquittal from their self-appointed servants at NAB and other state institutions.
