Princely state: Bahawalpur to be beautified

The construction of an underpass on the Circular Road was also discussed in the meeting.

BAHAWALPUR: Commissioner Saqib Zafar said on Wednesday that all parks in Bahawalpur were being revamped and traffic signals would be installed on major roundabouts to beautify the city. He was speaking at a meeting. Zafar said the authorities had resolved to beautify the city and ensure best facilities to citizens. He said all resources would be used to realise on this account. The construction of an underpass on the Circular Road was also discussed in the meeting. Zafar said there should be no obstruction to the smooth flow of traffic on the road. He said streetlights would be installed along the thoroughfare to ensure that it remained operational around-the-clock.  Zafar said a final decision would be taken in this regard soon. The commission ordered all major roundabouts in the city to be revamped. He said traffic signals should be installed there to prevent any untoward incident and facilitate the public. DCO Imran Sikander Baloch said renovations to the roundabouts had been approved. He said work on the project would commence following the formulation of estimates.
