Metro Bus Project: Work on Chandni Chowk bus station complete

Abbasi said that once completed, the project would cater to the transportation requirements of the citizens.

Work on the Chandni Chowk metro bus station has been completed, while work on Package-II from Committee Chowk to 6th Road Chowk has been completed up to 95 per cent, said a press release issued here on Wednesday.


National Logistic Cell, the executing agency, has said that the rest of work would be completed soon. Metro Bus Project Chairman Hanif Abbasi, Rawalpindi Commissioner Zahid Saeed and others inspected ongoing construction work on Package-II.

Abbasi said that once completed, the project would cater to the transportation requirements of the citizens. He said that the government has initiated mega projects from road to energy projects which will have positive bearings in the development of the country

The Rawalpindi commissioner said that despite torrential rains, efforts were being made to complete work on the project as soon as possible. He said the project would provide travelers comfortable and economical transportation facilities.

NLC officials said that quality material had been exported from the United States, Germany, Italy, China and other countries and special focus has been laid to interior as well as exterior of the bus stations. They said that the 80 per cent work on Waris Khan Metro Bus Station and 60 per cent work on Rehmanabad Metro Bus Station had been completed.

The officials further said that 70 per cent work on Murree Road from Committee Chowk to Sixth Road had been completed and efforts were being made to complete the remaining work.
