No Representation: FATA deprived of National Games

Tribal NGOs Consortium condemn the expulsion of Fata from forthcoming National Games.

PESHAWAR:
Tribal NGOs Consortium condemned the expulsion of Fata from the forthcoming National Games, which start from December 25, 2010 in Peshawar.

This was expressed by Zar Ali Khan, Chairman Tribal NGOs Consortium (TNC), during a press conference at the Peshawar Press Club.

A large number of athletes and officials from Fata were also present at the conference.

He said that Fata is already neglected, the people are deprived and frustrated due to ongoing militancy and terrorism there and in such situations expulsion of Fata from the National Games is another blow to the already deprived people, especially the youth.

Noor Aslam Khan Afridi said that Arif Hasan, Chairman Pakistan Olympic Association, had allowed Fata to participate, but a few black sheep in the Fata Sports Board do not want to see Fata participating.

It was demanded that the Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa order the formation of an impartial committee to investigate and punish the people who are depriving athletes of Fata from National Games.
