Unnerved by criticism, Anushka and Kohli arrive hand in hand from Australia

Following India's defeat, Anushka was blamed for Kohli’s poor performance during the match

Unnerved by criticism and flak, in a public display of support for each other Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood actor Anushka Sharma arrived hand in hand from Australia.

On Thursday, India crashed out of the World Cup semi-finals after Australia secured an emphatic 95-run victory over them.

Following the defeat, Indian media and cricket fans heaped blame on Kohli’s girlfriend Anushka for the country’s unceremonious exit from the World Cup.

With the star batsman lasting just 13 balls, many blamed Anushka for his poor performance.

However, in a firm answer to the critics, the couple arrived back in India on Friday night from Australia hand-in-hand and very much in the public eye.

Anushka had travelled to Sydney to support her boyfriend and watch India take on the home team.
