Safety embankments: K-P earmarks additional grant of Rs100m

After completion, it would help protect precious land from erosion and life and properties of people during floods

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister for Housing, Dr Amjad Ali Khan, has said the K-P chief minister has assured an additional grant of Rs100 million for the construction of safety embankments and bunds to protect the agricultural land and life of people from floods in PK-82 in Swat district. He said work on mega projects related to the construction of safety embankments and bunds of water channels had been started under a comprehensive policy. After completion, it would help protect precious land from erosion and life and properties of people during floods. He said the chief minister, while taking keen interest in these projects, has assured Rs100 million additional grant for Swat. He said irregularities in development funds would not be tolerated and elements found guilty would not be spared.
