Life in Dubai (II)

DUBAI: Thanks to Mr Fulton for sharing his insights with the rest of the world. We have been living in Dubai for almost 17 months now, and for the first six months I hated every minute being here. As time went by, we have learnt who our real friends are and discovered places to visit other than the malls and the fancy restaurants. Going for a walk any time of the day or night is pure bliss, as is not worrying that you will get hijacked in your car with a gun pointed at your head (as happens in my native South Africa). The city is clean, safe and there are still places that have kept the local culture. Perhaps if he stayed there for a longer period of time, his views will surely change.
