Gas leak in factory kills three

A poisonous gas leak in an oil factory in Multan kills three, one hospitalised.

MULTAN: Three factory workers were killed as a result of a poisonous gas leak in an oil factory in Multan.

Four factory workers Muhammad Akram, Shabbir, Sarfraz and Hanif were changing a filter when the leak occurred. Three of them died on the spot, while Hanif fell unconscious and was later shifted to the hospital.

Relatives of the workers protested against the owner for not providing the workers with proper equipment for protection.

The owner of the factory, Mazhar Hussain termed the deaths as an unfortunate accident. Police officials say they will take action if the relatives register a case.
